BRUNO VAN LANDEGHEM born in Belgium November 12, 1818,
son of Jacob Van Landeghem, a native of Belgium, came to
Mt. Clemens in 1848; operated the North Branch Flouring Mills for seven
years: engaged in the grain and pork business at Mt. Clemens in 1856; next in
the manufacture of staves. In 1859, which business he has continued down to the
present time He married Malanie Vanrenterghem in 1850, to whom were born
thirteen children of whom two are living - Bruno Jr. and Frank. Mrs. Van
Landeghem died in 1873. One daughter, who married Joseph Winkler, died at the
age of nineteen years. Mr. Van Landeghem has been Alderman of the city for three
years, is one of the best citizens of Mt. Clemens, and deservedly popular with
all classes.
