Prevost, L, the subject of this sketch
was born in Belgium, September 6, 1827, and here was educated and raised as a
farmer. In 1850 he engaged in the grain trade on his own account, successfully
following it until 1853, when he emigrated to California, locating in Alameda
county; thence in 1858 to Contra Costa county; thence to Sonoma county in 1866;
coming to this county, settling in Denverton township and buying four hundred
and eighty acres of land one-half mile west of where he now live. The place is
now owned by Prevost & Girard, and is situated five miles east of Denverton and
eight miles north-west of Rio Vista. Mr. Prevost has followed farming
continuously since arriving in California.
