Me. John Kousho, shoemaker, Monticello. is a native of Poland, and came to
America in 1867, and to Monticello in June, 1868 where he has been working at
his trade ever since. He commenced business for himself in 1869, and was married
January 3, 1869, to Mrs. Mary Ann Soape nee Mary Ann
Magette. She had four children by her first husband, but they are all
dead. She is a native of Belgium, came to America in 1845,
and to Monticello in 1857, and speaks German, French and English. He
speaks Polish, German and English, and is a member of the Odd-Fellows lodge and
the Encampment
