Desire Leurquin & Cecelia Bournonville

Desire LEURQUIN  (1824 - 1910) was born on March 9th, 1824 to Jean Baptiste LEURQUIN and Anne Marie MOUTHUY in Spy, Belgium.

Cecelia BOURNONVILLE (1830 - 1918) was born on February 23rd, 1830, to Jean Joseph BOURNONVILLE and Laurence Joseph PONCIN in Namur, Belgium.

Desire and Cecila married on 20 March 1854 and had four children:

• Alfred J. born 12 November, 1858 in Temploux, Belgium, married Virginia VANAM and had 8 children see (Alfred J. Leurquin Family History).
• John Baptiste was born 1858, married Mary (maiden name unknown) and had two children (John Baptiste Leurquin Family History).
• Marie born 1861 married a Alfred LEGROS and had three children (Alfred LEGROS Family History).
• Dieu Donne was born on September 22nd, 1865; and married Victoria MARTIN.  They had 10 children (Dieu Donne Leurquin Family History).

The family immigrated to Humboldt, Wisconsin in October of 1871, according to the Letter of Intent filed by Dieu Donne.

Desire died (death certificate) of chronic nephrites on November 1st 1910 (grave), and is buried in St. Hubert Cemetery. Cecelia died of a cerebral hemorage on the 23 of February,1918 (death certificate).

LEURQUIN Ancestry 

The LEURQUIN surname is very much a research in progress.  The origin of the Leurquin family like the Balza family is Belgium.  According to the immigration records they come from the area around the city of Temploux.  Our earliest known Leurquin ancestor is Hubert LEURQUIN who married Marie Jaqueline ROSAR and had at least one child  Desire LEURQUIN (1706 - ?).  Desire married Maire Barbe RENARD  and they had at elast one child Dieudonne LEURQUIN.  Dieudonne married Marie Catherine MOUTON and had at least one child Jean Baptiste LEURQUIN.  Jean Baptiste married Ann Marie MOUTHUY and had at least one child  Desire LEURQUIN (1824 - 1910) who married Cecelia BOURNONVILLE (1830 - 1918). described above.

The BOURNONVILLE surname is a subject of research at this point.  Very little has been found about the history of the Bournonville family.  The origin is assumed to be Belgian.  The oldest known Bournonville relation in this history is Jean Joseph BOURNONVILLE who married Laurence Joseph PONCIN and sired Cecile Joseph BOURNONVILLE described above
