Agatha Barnett was one of seven children born to John Barnett, Jr. And his wife Marran Gibbs. John Barnett, Jr. (1704 - 1759) was a son of John Barnett, Sr. and his wife Ann daughter of Dr.John Gibbs and his wife Mary Mullens of Middlesex County Virginia.
John Barnett and Marrin Gibbs were married in Christ Church Parish, Middlesex County Virginia the 13th of November 1728 (Christ Church Parish Register, Middlesex County.)
By 1733 John and Marrin Gibbs Barnett
had moved to Spotsylvania County Virginia. DEED

planter from Richard Moulden 184 acres for 22 pounds.
Orange County Virginia was formed from Spotsylvania County in 1734.

To my beloved wife Marran Barnett my land and plantation whereon I now
live with
all my personal estate during her natural life. If she marries she
should
have no
more than the law allows.
After her decease my son John should have it. In case he should die
without
heir my daughter Anne should have it and in case she should die without
heir,
it should be equally divided amongst my daughters.
To my son James Barnet my Lost Mountain land. In case he should die
without
heir it should be divided equally amongst my daughters.
To my son Ambrose Barnett one tract on the branches of Smith's Run,
bounded
by edw. Price, Zachary Gibbs, John Medley. In case he should die
without
heir it should be equally divided amongst my daughters.
After my wife's decease or when she marries, my personal estate should
be
equally
divided amongst my children, only my daughter Sarah Watts shall have to
the value
of 10 pounds, 10 shillings current money less than the rest, which she
has
already
received.
My water mill should go with the manor house.
If any of my children should marry and my wife should think fit to give
them any
part of my estate it should be valued by three Justices and a
memorandum
of the same put on the County Record.
My beloved wife Marran Barnett Executrix until my son James and my son
Ambrose
shall come to age and then they should joyn with her. In case my
wife
should
die before my sons come to age, my son-in-law, John Watts, should be my
Executor
till my sons come to age and no longer.
