I live in Canada and found your site when researching the Cadds from Preston
Bissett. I trace back to John Cad(d) and Katherine Mason. My gggrandfather
was James Cad Howell who married Ebbin Claydon in ca. 1820. You and Heather
Rohrer have helped me take the Mason line back aways.
How does the Cadd family fit in with your line?

My Great Great Grandmother Rose Love (nee Dodson) moved from Australia
to New Zealand with her children William and George some time after 1881...I'm
not sure what happened to her husband Thomas E Love but I think she may
have ended up marrying Joseph Taylor (possibly in Auckland) her son George
moved back to Australia as George Taylor and married my grandmother Annie
Dudley in 1914. The only Taylor I know in New Zealand is Avis Taylor and
she lives in Onehunga....I have only just managed to track her down this
week..she is very elderly and just come out of hospital....so I am unable
to take much of her time with questions..I know it is highly unlikely
but I have my fingers crossed that you may know something of my Taylor
relatives
Kind regards

I definitely go back to Isobel/Bell/etc CALDER who married Alexander CORMACK
at Watten parish in 1781. Their daughter Barbara (1786-1868) who in 1805
at Wick parish married John SINCLAIR (1780-1857) is my forbear.
There are at least 5 Isobel CALDER baptisms to choose from in Watten parish
but I'm picking Isabella born 1754 to Alexander CALDER and Margaret CLACHER
to be the one. A good point in her favour is that both Isabella and Barbara
had sisters called Sydney, not a common name. At least 3 researchers claim
different marriages for Isabella the daughter of Alexander CALDER &
Margaret CLACHER, so it's not a done deal.

Hi Barbara,
my search engine has had heaps of people searching for genealogy links
and tonight I went a little mad with my search engine web spider and let
it dig into web sites all over the world (Normally only NZ web sites)
but tonight I let it follow any links it found on Genealogy, it has visited
the UK, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, America and it even went across the
Tasman to Australia. Well about three gigabytes of space taken up on the
server but at the moment it's a case of spare the expense.. Grin.
Thanks for putting a link on your web site to my search engine, I have
notice quite a few people visiting yours.
One thing I have noticed on the search engine log file is the number of
people who search by spelling genealogy wrong, they spell it geneology
and it doesn't show any links?
I just may have to spend some time editing the links that it found tonight,
all I can say is that it started digging quite deep into some web sites...
Whoops I had better email a few webmasters to say I'm sorry for eating
heaps of bandwidth.
I know that my search engine shut down one server in Ireland when it tried
to download the whole thing! I have even got a few of his Microsoft word
documents about a noisy dog next door because someone did a search for
"dogs" and it came up in the results??
These things happen sometimes.. Grin.
Many regards
Dave Andrews of linknz.co.nz
I feel that it would be good if I allowed my search engine to index any
genealogy web sites, even the small ones.

If you are unable to answer this not too worry. Anyway thanks again for

E-mail address: [email protected]: Hi Barbara,
Good for you! What a life's work you've embarked on. I am searching for
my uncle, Patrick Joseph Taggart, b. March 27, 1904 in Glasgow (likely
dead now of course so I'm actually searching for any offspring. I have
no record of him after 1920 when he was still in Scotland (of Irish parents).
No marriage or death record in Ireland or Scotland.
As one of his brothers went to Canada (my father), another to Australia,
etc. thought he may have ended up in NZ or Australia himself. Contact
with family was lost in 1920.
Are there accessible records of passenger lists on immigrant ships in
the 1920s and 1930s for NZ or Australia? I've checked for Canada where
I live, with no luck. Cannot seem to access data for US without spending
a small fortune.
Would appreciate any leads you might offer in this regard. I'm particularly
keen to find out at this time as my family and I will be travelling to
NZ and Aus in December to visit family and would love to connect with
other cousins if they actually exist down there. It's unlikely we'll ever
get the chance to make the trip another time.
Regards,
Ingrid Taggart
