BRUNEL, CHARLES a ex-naval man, gold prospector, whaler and shepherd. set up a steam saw-mill in the 1870s. His mill shut down in 1917
BRUNEL. GEORGE tried the Whaling Business, but sold out in 1869
BULLEN, brothers came from England via Victoria. They made their money selling merchandise in Victoria and Otago..and brought land. They completed building their Homestead in 1875..Frederick Bullen retired and returned to England abt 1883. In 1907 G.F Bullen sold out to a Syndicate of 5 men. He retired to ChCh where he died in 1912 at the age of 80

GREENFIELD, ALFRED applied for a run in 1856. He had arr at Nelson in 1851 on the "Clara". aged 22 years and helped drive a mob of horses from Nelson to Amuri for John Tinline. In sept 1859 he transferred his run to the Keenes.

INGLES, H.A marr a Miss CHIENE on the 14th July 1875
INGLES, HENRY was in partnership with his brother..They had been to court 2-3 times as a result of not looking after their sheep properly. and their whole flock of 5,000 sheep had to be destroyed.
INGLES, ALEXANDER WRIGHTON and brother henry and CLINTON PASLEY brought the Puhi Puhi run in 1862.Clinton dissolved the partnership with the brothers in 1869 and died the next year aged 29.

LAUGESEN, CHRISTIAN LOUIS a Dane with 9 sons and two daughters arr in 1892 from Canterbury and started a timber mill. In 1895 the father retired and sons William, Walter and Louis carried on the business
