He is survived by his wife, Amelia "Annie" Vess of Lillian, Alabama; his son, Charles Michael Vess of Grapevine, Texas; daughter, Angela Sue Vess of Bedford, Texas; his grandson, Grant Michael Vess of Grapevine, Texas; stepdaughter, Barbara Phaup and her husband Tony of Medford, Oregon and her sons, John Louis and Robert Allred; stepdaughter, Carol Webb and grandson, Erik Webb of Grand Prairie, Texas; and a very special daughter to both Chuck and Annie, Sunny Parker and her husband, Dr. Steve Parker and their children, Daniel, Brian, Casey and Paul of Mesa, Arizona.
He joined the United States Navy Cadet Program in 1953 and became a naval aviator in May 1955 as Ensign United States Navy.
Captain Vess was a pilot with American Airlines for 33 years and retired in November 1993.

Mary Vidas, 88 of Phoenix AZ, passed away February 17th, 2006. Born Marika Fourakis in Platania on the island of Crete, she came to the USA and Phoenix as the bride of George Vidas in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by children, Amalia, Andy, Harry, and Chrissie (husband Roger Miller); and grandchildren Travis and Sophia Miller, and Maria and George Vidas. James Morgan Videan, 78, of Phoenix, passed away on January 7, 2006. He was a partner in the firm of Renaud, Cook & Videan. He practiced law for almost forty years-starting in Ohio at the Attorney General's Office under William O'Neil. He was a Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Catherine, and children Jamie (Wid) Everett, Bob (Anne), John (Amy) and Jim (Lynne); grandchildren, Leif, Wyatt, Cutter, Codi, Amelia, Anya, Kelsey and Kira. He is also survived by brother Nap T. Videan, Jr. (Betsy). He was born in Flint, Michigan to Nap T. Videan and Martha May Morgan in 1927. Joseph Richard Vidoni, 86, of Laveen, AZ, passed away on October 28, 2006. Joe was born in Billerio, Italy on Nov. 21st, 1919 to Lino Vidoni and Melania Revelant. Joe Married Katherine Lepore in Cleveland, Ohio on Nov 19th, 1946. Kay preceded him in death on October 27th, 1998 in Laveen, AZ. He married Dorothy Bobik on February 14th, 2000.
Joe served in the US Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, son, James, daughter Kathleen, granddaughter, Dawn, brothers; Louis and his wife, Anne, John and his wife, Mary, Mario, and his sister Irma and her husband Angelo DeCrease, his extended family; Karen, Michael, and Michele Bobik and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rev. Msgr. Edgardo B. Villacorte, 72, passed away April 11, 2006 in Scottsdale. He retired after 50 years of priesthood in the Philippines and came to Phoenix six years ago. Father Villacorte started Arizona's first Filipino Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Phoenix and later served at St. Catherine of Siena and Our Lady of the Valley parishes. He is survived by a brother Silverio Villacorte in the Philippines.
