JOHNSON, Sigfred Ettelin

Sigfred E. Johnson, 77, of Scottsdale, former longtime Anchorage resident, died Feb. 13, 1994, following heart surgery at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. Mr. Johnson was born Aug. 6, 1916, in Apex, Montana. He was a retired engineer technician who lived six months of the year in Arizona and six months in Alaska. He left Dillon, Mont., in 1947, for Anchorage, where he lived for 47 years. Mr. Johnson had worked 21 years for the federal government. After retirement in 1978, he was active in senior-citizen programs and organizations. He was the first president of Alaska Federation of Retired Federal Employees and a former president of its Anchorage chapter. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Older Persons Action Group.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lillian Louise Johnson of Scottsdale; son, Fred Edward Johnson of Anchorage; sisters, Elinor McCauley of Dillon, Mont., and Beatrice Underwood of North Platte, Neb.; daughter, Carol Louise Moseley of Phoenix ; and four grandchildren, Jaime Moseley, Stephanie Moseley, Rydeen Stevens and Lance O'Donovan.
