Jacob Leon Oates, 67, an airline machinist, died Nov. 30, 1982, at Veterans Medical Center. He was born in North Carolina and moved to Arizona three years ago from New Jersey. Wife, Flora; daughter, Connie Campbell; son, Leon; a sister and a brother. Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery. 12/1/1982.

OGDEN, Lysle H.

Lysle H. Ogden, 49, a former Scottsdale resident, died Oct. 22, 1982, in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, where he lived the past six months. Services for Ogden, who had been employed as an electronic engineer with General Instruments, were in Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden, Scottsdale. He was born in Union City, Michigan. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, David and Daniel; a stepson; four stepdaughters, his mother, Grace Ogden; two brothers; two half-brothers; a sister; and 11 grandchildren. OLEA, Frances Garcia

Frances Garcia Olea, 46, an employee of Motorola for 14 years, died Oct. 28, 1982, at Phoenix Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Olea, of Phoenix, was born in Glendale. She is survived by her daughters, Malena Orona and Gloria Uribe; sons, Reynaldo and Fernando Garcia; two sisters; eight brothers; and seven grandchildren. Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 5614 W. Orangewood. Chapel of the Chimes made the arrangements. Interment Resthaven. Mesa -- Roe E. Oliver, 68, retired employee of Sharp's Welding, died Oct. 29, 1982, at Mesa Lutheran Hospital. Mr. Oliver was born in Paisley, Oregon, and moved to Mesa from California 16 years ago. He was a member of the Villa Park Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Frances; sons, Edward L. and Larry R.; stepmother, Viola; five sisters; and four grandchildren. Mesa -- Graveside services for Martha M. Olmstead, 83, were at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Oldstead, formerly of Mesa, recently moved to Apple Valley, California. She died Dec. 23, 1982, in Victorville Hospital, CA. She was born in Hedrick, Iowa. She is survived by her daughter, Frances M. VanFleet; son, John F.; two brothers; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Melcher's Mortuary made arrangements. 12/24/1982.

OLSON, Bertha

Bertha B. Olson, 91, who was born in Arizona and was a member of First Families of Arizona, Arizona Pioneers Association and Morningside Presbyterian Church, died Dec. 29, 1981, in her home, 8041 N. 11th St. Services will be Saturday in Messinger Mortuary, 7601 E. Indian School, Scottsdale. Survivors include a son, Yale Siminoff; two sisters; two brothers; a grandson; a great-grandson and three great-great-grandsons. OLSON, Dorothy L.

Services for Dorothy L. Olson, 97, who died Dec. 31, 1981, in Hillhaven Health Care Center, will be in A. L. Moore & Sons Chapel of Memories, 333 W. Adams. Mrs. Olson, 2110 W. Avalon Drive, was a member of the Eastern Star. She was born in Austin, Minnesota, and moved to Phoenix in 1951 from Des Moines. She is survived by daughter, Alice Gibbs; two grandchildren, Robert P. Radnich, Phoenix, and Susan R. Walker, Westmoreland, California; and four great-grandchildren. Services conducted by Rev. Eugene LeFebvre in Chapel of Memories, A. L. Moore & Sons. Ralph Olson, 68, an insurance salesman, died Nov. 14, 1982, at Phoenix Community Hospital. Mr. Olson, 3951 W. Cypress, was born in Michigan and moved to Arizona 18 years ago. Survivors include his wife, Verna; daughter, Phyllis Johnson, and three sisters. Services were at Alzona Kingdom Hall, 1312 N. 31st Ave. Botimer Family Mortuary. 11/17/1982.

OLVEY, Lawrence E.

Cottonwood --Services for Lawrence E. Olvey, 75, who died Jan. 4, 1982, at the Marcus Lawrence Memorial Hospital, will be Saturday at the Westcott Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Olvey, a native of Indianapolis, Indiana, was a retired railroad company employee who moved to Arizona in 1941. He moved here three months ago. Survivors include five daughters, Sallie Menesee, Christal Rau, Thelma Schoettmer, Judy Schweing and Susan Olvey; three sons, Shelby, Francis and Morton; three sisters and two brothers; and 21 grandchildren. O'NEAL, Dewey L.

Safford -- Dewey L. O'Neal, 78, a real estate agent with Alton Realty, died Dec. 24, 1982, at Tucson Medical Center. He was born in Waco, Texas, and moved to Arizona 53 years ago. He had owned and operated three cotton farms in the San Simon area. He is survived by his wife, Minnie; stepdaughters, Bonnetta Foshe and Betty S. Bybee; a sister and brother; and nine grandchildren. Services were at Caldwell's Chapel of the Valley. 12/26/1982.
