Sun City -- Memorial mass for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gagliano, both 54, of 9510 Pleasant Valley, Sun City, will be at St. Clement Catholic Church. The Gaglianos were killed in an auto accident June 20, 1978, near Burlington, New Jersey. They were buried Sunday in their native New York. Survivors include a son, Joseph; a brother and sister. GALE, Nita

Scottsdale -- Services for Nita Gale, 78, who died April 18, 1978, in Maricopa County Hospital, will be Friday in Messinger Mortuary CHapel, 7601 E. Indian School Road. Miss Gale, 6801 E. Camelback Road, studied piano, violin, voice, and drama in the Dayton, Ohio, Conservatory of Music and King's School of Oratory. She studied music in New York and became the assistant of Romano Romani, a position she held several years. She was featured in recitals in New York and during World War II traveled England singing for the U. S. Armed Services. She was on the music faculty at Arizona State University from 1949 to 1955 then returned to New York to become a member of the Community Opera Company. She returned to Arizona nine years ago. GANZ, Pauline Reardan

Memorial services for Pauline Reardan Ganz, who lived in Phoenix since 1919 and died June 25, 1978, in Doctors Hospital, were in Franciscan Renewal Center, 5802 E. Lincoln Drive. Mrs. Ganz, 3020 N. 36th St., had been president of Good Shepherd Guild, Girl Scout Council and a member of the Church of St. Francis Sodality and Friendly House. Survivors include her children, Paul Ganz, Sylvia Ganz Houle, Phoenix; and Joan Ganz Cooney, New York City; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Raymond Brunsman, Phoenix; and a sister-in-law, Frances G. GARCIA, Jesus E.

Jesus E. Garcia, 77, died Sat., April 22, 1978, in his home in Phoenix. Garcia moved to Arizona from Mexico 60 years ago. Daughters, Carmen Lopez, Mercelina Ortega, Polly Fernandez and Ruth McKinn; sons, Margarito, Roman, Brigido, Manuel, and Benny; 41 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. St. Anthony's Church. Jesus S. "Tullie" Garcia, 42, of Glendale, died June 24, 1978. He was born in Glendale and had been a heavy equipment operator for the City of Phoenix. GARRITY, Joseph E. "Gene"

Joseph E. "Gene" Garrity, 42, came to Phoenix 36 years ago from Chicago and died June 26, 1978, of motorcycle-car accident injuries. Mr. Garrity graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1953, Arizona State University in 1957, and received his master's in education at ASU in 1975. He was business manager for Murphy School District 21. Wife, Barbara; children, Mary Frances, Patricia Lee and Mark Vincent; and a brother, James Vincent Garrity, Jr. the Arizona Republic 6/27/1978.


Jack D. Gaston, 65, of Glendale, died April 23, 1978. He was a retired pastor of Sunnyslope Presbyterian Church. He moved to Arizon afrom New York 24 years ago and was a graduate of Alabama University and Union Theological Seminary. He was pastor in Liberty, N.Y., moderator of Hudson Presbytery in New York, and chaplain at John C. Lincoln Hospital and Desert Mission here. Leonard H. Gearan, 53, a retired Army chief warrant officer, died in Washington, D. C., June 22, 1978. He was born in Gardner, Mass., and served in the armed forces for 32 years, retiring in 1974. GEHRT, Josephine M.

GIERMANN, Gertrude M.

Gertrude M. Giermann, 85, of Sun City, died April 15, 1978, at Boswell Memorial Hospital. Children, Gertrude Ursini, June Pump, and Ernie B.; a sister; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Giermann came to Sun City in 1973 from Illinois where she had done volunteer work at the Hines Veterans Administration Hospital for 15 years. Menke Funeral Home. Burial in Brookfield, Illinois. James O. Gilliland, 76, who came to Arizona in 1920, died June 26, 1978. He worked in the mines at Jerome and later for Ala... Freight Lines. He was a member of Valley Heights Baptist Church, the Masons and was an Eastern Star patron.
