UDALL, Elias Earl

Elias Earl Udall, purchasing agent for the City of Phoenix from 1950 to 1954, died Thursday, Dec. 10, 1970, in his home at Mamaroneck, N.Y. At the time of his death he was director of the Model Cities Program at Salt Lake City. He was born in St. Johns, AZ, in 1919 and brought to Phoenix in 1926 by his parents, Leah S. Udall and the late John H. Udall, a former mayor of Phoenix. He graduated from Phx College, ASU, and received a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University. During World War II he served as a Navy pilot with the rank of lieutenant commander. Survivors include his wife, Naomi; children, King David, Steven, Bruce, Suzanne and Daniel; nine brothers and sisters, former Mayor Nicholas Udall of Phoenix, Jesse, Samuel and Mrs. Pauline Perkinson, all of Mesa, and Mrs. Ruth Evans of Provo, Reed of Kaysville, UT, Mrs. Janet Mortensen of Modesto, CA, Mrs. Josephine Webster of Parker and Mrs. Mella Flack of St. Louis. Services were in Provo, Utah. Dec. 15, 1970.
