LARA, Juan S.

Juan S. Lara, 79, who had manufactured jewelry during his 43 years in Phoenix, died Thurs., Jan. 1, 1970, in a Phoenix hospital. He was born in Mexico and moved to Miami in 1920. Wife, Rosaria; sons, Ernest C. and William J., all of Phoenix; six grandchildren. Burial in Memory Lawn Cemetery. Published in the Arizona Republic 1/3/1970.

LARSON, Bruce O.

14 Dec 1909 - 1 Mar 1970
Tempe -- Bruce O. Larson, 60, a general contractor who had done heavy construction on bridges and roads throughout Arizona, died Sun., Mar. 1, 1970, in Scottsdale Hospital of a heart ailment. He was born in Canadian, Texas, and came to northern Arizona in 1927 and moved to the Valley in 1942. He had been a cowboy and rancher and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Tempe. Wife, Pernella; daughter, Bonnie Rae LARSON of Tempe; four brothers and three sisters out of state. Burial in Double Butte Cemetery. 3/3/1970.

LARSON, Clarence A.

Clarence A. Larson, 66, a retired Chicago boilermaker mechanic, died Sat., Feb. 28, 1970, in Scottsdale Hospital. He was born in Iowa and came here in 1969. He was a Seabee veteran of World War II and a past commander of Post 2075 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Chicago. Wife, Hilda; one son, Richard, of Boulder, CO; and two brothers and a sister out of state. Burial in Greenwood Memorial Park. 3/2/1970.

La TOURRETTE, Celeste H.

17 May 1888 - 7 Mar 1970
Mrs. Celeste H. La Tourrette, 82, a resident of the Valley since 1917, died Sat., Mar. 7, 1970. She was the widow of Vern G. LaTOURRETTE who had taught school in Tempe, Gilbert and Peoria. He died in 1962. She was a member of Central Methodist Church. She was born in Mobile, AL. Survivors include a son, Dr. Vern G. La Tourette of Denver; two daughters, Mrs. F. Nichols of Mesa and Mrs. Betty Brennan of Tempe; 11 grandchildren. 3/10/1970.

LAWRENCE, Stanley J.

5 Sep 1895 - 3 Mar 1970
Stanley J. Lawrence, 74, who had worked in aerial construction 40 years for the Illinois Bell Telephone Co., died Tuesday, March 3, 1970, in Memorial Hospital. He moved to Phoenix eight years ago from his native Chicago. He was an Army veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy. Cremation followed services in A.L.Moore & Sons Mortuary. 3/5/1970.

LeBEAU, Fred E.

Parker -- Fred E. LeBeau, 81, a retired meat cutter, formerly with the Frank Maddox Co. here, died Thursda, Feb. 26, 1970, in Needles, CA. He was born in Dallas and lived in Arizona 51 years, 21 of them here. Survivors include his wife, Janie; two sons, Fred E. of Fresno, CA, and O.W. of Denver; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Walson of Barstow, CA, Mrs. Sid Stewart of CA and Mrs. Kenneth Ruth of Holiday Shores, CA; one brother and one sister out of state; 10 grandchildren and 12 gr-grandchildren. Services were at the First Baptist Church here. Burial in Parker Cemetery. 3/1/1970.

LEESON, Mrs. Ollie G.

Mrs. Ollie G. Leeson, 90, was president of the Phoenix Woman's Club in 1950 and a member of the Memorial Christian Church. She was born in Albany, MO, and moved to Phoenix in 1932 from Alhambra, CA. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Opal T. Wadleigh of Phoenix and a granddaughter, Rogene Von Wadleigh, Phx. Interment in Topeka, KS. Published in the Arizona Republic 1/1/1970.

LEHKER, Marvin F.

Marvin F. Lehker, 76, who retired in 1956 after 40 years with Oliver's Equipment in South Bend, Indiana, died March 4, 1970. He moved to Phoenix in 1959 and was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. He was born in LaPorte, IN. Sisters, Mrs. Eleanor RUMBAUGH, Mrs. Jessie NEARY, Mrs. Mary DITTMER, all of LaPorte, IN, Mrs. Julia PAULSON of Seattle and Ella WILLIAMS of Rolling Prairie, IN. Brothers, Paul of LaPorte and Casper of Elkhart, Indiana. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. 3/5/1970.

LEISNER, Ina

Ina P. Leisner, 45, an Indiana native who came here five years ago from Illinois, died Sat., Dec. 12, 1970. Survivors include her husband, Henry; a son, Allen Ketner, Phx; two stepsons, Jerry and John Leisner, both of Wisconsin; her father, Ervin Byrum; a brother, Alvin Byrum, both of Phoenix; and a brother out of state; two grandchildren. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. 12/14/1970.

LEISSNER, Paul

2 June 1901 - Dec. 1970
Paul Leissner, 69, a retired shipping foreman for the Kohler Plumbing Co., moved here in 1967 from Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was born in Germany. Wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Mrs. Ruth BOWER of Phoenix and Mrs. Irene OETZELL of Torrance, California; and four grandchildren. Entombment in Resthaven Mausoleum. The Arizona Republic 12/17/1970.
