IBEN, Ellen H. Toohey

Requiem high mass will be celebrated tomorrow for Mrs. Ellen H. Iben, 78, daughter of a pioneer Arizona couple. Interment will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Rosary will be tonight in Whitney-Murphy Funeral Home, 330 N. Second Ave. Mrs. Iben, widow of August Iben, resided at 1516 W. Mulberry Dr. She died Wednesday (6 Jan 1960) in a Phoenix hospital. Born in Clearwater, N.M., she moved to Arizona with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Redmond Toohey, in 1892. Her father completed one of the first modern irrigation canals in the Salt River Valley and her mother was one of the founders of St. Joseph's Hospital. She is survived by two sons, Henry T., Laguna, Calif., and John F., Phoenix; a daughter, Mrs. James F. Smith, Phoenix; two brothers, Frank R. Toohey and Redmond J. (Ted) Toohey; and a sister, Mrs. Timothy J. Maloney, all of Phoenix; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The Arizona Republic Friday, 8 Jan 1960.

INGRAM, Walter W.

Tempe -- Funeral services for Walter W. Ingram were at the Carr Mortuary in Tempe, Rev. Cecil L. Prior officiating. Mr. Ingram died Friday, Jan. 8, 1960, in Mesa Southside Hospital. He had been a resident of Arizona for 40 years. Mr. Ingram retired in 1953 from the Ingram Applicance Co. which he founded. He also was the former operator of the Capitol City Cyclery in Phoenix. Survivors include his wife, Edna; two sons, Curtin of Tempe and Walter of Los Angeles; two sisters in Canada; and three grandchildren. Burial in Double Butte Cemetery. AZ Republic 10 Jan 1960.
