Coconino County Books

Following are some books about Coconino County. However, I do not personally own any of the books. Some are available at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and may be available on microfilm through the Family History Centers. Some may also be available at other libraries and can be requested through interlibrary loan.

  • Pioneer Stories of Arizona's Verde Valley no author or copyright info given. Available for purchase from the Fort Verde State Historic Park, P. O. Box 397, Camp Verde, AZ 86322. Arthur S. Burford, who suggested this book be included described it as containing "brief family histories of a great number of families who migrated to the Verde Valley in the early 1870's. Almost (I would think), a 'must,' for anyone researching that part of AZ, from 1870 to 1900 in particular.

  • They Came to the Mountain: the Story of Flagstaff's Beginnings by Platt Cline. Flagstaff, AZ: Northern Arizona University and Northland Press. 1977.
