The City of Holroyd lies half way between Sydney and the Blue Mountains, covering an area of 39.9 square kilometres and located about 20 kilometres west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and was renamed in 1927 in honour of our first mayor, Arthur Todd Holroyd. Holroyd Family History Group was formed in 1997, to assist members in researching their family history. Meetings are held from 9.30am on the third Monday of each month (except January) in the Multi-purpose Room, 2nd floor, Merrylands Library, corner of Miller and Newman Streets, Merrylands. Visitors are warmly welcomed. There is a volunteer service, helping general public research their family history - 10am - 12pm, 2nd Monday of the month (except January), in the Tony Maston Room, Merrylands Central Library.
