Each of my grandparents immigrated to the USA and were of Polish origins even though the their homeland may have been controlled by Austria/Hungary, Prussia or Russia.

  • My Len/Mularz family immigrated in 1909 from the Krosno area located in today's southern Poland.
  • My Kusmierz/Rytlewski family immigrated around 1880s from Lonsk when it known as Prussia, the northeast area of today's Poland.

    They raised their families in Bay County, Michigan.

The family information on this page was developed from a variety of sources. Much of it is undocumented and much has come others that generously shared what they knew with me.     • My Family:
    My parents, Anthony Kusmierz (1907 Bay City, MI - 1965 Bay City, MI) and Helen Len (1941 Braddock, PA - 1994 Bay City, MI) were married on 30 July 1930 at St. Hyacinth Church in Bay City, Michigan.

  • My father's parents were Jozef Kusmierz (1842 Lonsk, Poland/Germany - 1929 Bay City, MI) and Katarzyna Rytlewski (1869 Posen, Poland - 1926 Bay City, MI). They married on 19 January 1888 at St. Stanislaus Church in Bay City, Michigan.
    - Besides Anthony, they had 7 sons: Alexander (?), Thomas (?), Titus (1894-1923), Stephen (1896-1947), Aloysius (1901-1973), Louis J. (1908-1940) and Joseph T. (1913-1985) and 5 daughers: Anastasia (1888-1928), Agnes (1892-1972), Catherine (1898-1972), Johanna F. (1903-1992) and Marie A. (1911-1978)
    • Jozef's parents were Thomaz Kusmierz and Sopia Gliniecki. They married 27 Nov 1837, Lonsk, Poland/Germany. Thomaz had a previous marriage to Catherine Rofs and their children were Petronella (1834-?) and Constancia (1836). Both born in Lonsk/Lazek.

      Jozef's siblings, all born in Lonsk(Lazek), were:

      • John(Johannes) (1841-1871) and he married Agatha Habowski(Chabowska) (1842 Krowno, Poland - 1929 Fisherville, MI). They had two sons and two daughters. After John's death, Agatha married Tomasz Kozuch (1847 Stara Wies, Poland - 1926 Auburn, MI). They had two sons. Agatha's parents were Jan Habowski and Catherine Redzminski. Agatha had a sister named Marcianna Habowski and she married John Nierzurawski of Lonsk..
      • Katherine(Catharina) (1853-1933 Bay City,MI) and she married John Megger(Meger) in 1873 (Lonsk). They had five sons and three daughters. They immigrated to Bay City, MI before 1881. John's parents were Tomasz Megger and Anna Meyr.
      • The other siblings are: Teofil (1843-?), Carolus (1846-?), Suzanna (1849-?), and Julianna (1851-?) who married Thomas Ritlewski in 1873 in Lonsk,
    • Katarzyna's parents were John Rytlewski (1833-1905) and Johanna Drywczinski (1839 Poland - 1914 Fisherville, MI) and they were married about 1940 in Poland.
      - Besides Katarzyna, they had 3 sons: Isidore (1861-1937), John (1865-1929), and Frank (1866-1939), and two daughters: Marianna (1859-?) and Marcine (1874-1918).

      John's parents were Matthew Rytlewski and mother is unknown.

      Johanna's parents were M.J. Drefka and mother is unknown.

  • My mother's parents were Paul Len (1887 Poland/Austria - 1964 Bay City, MI) and Anna Mularz (1891 Poland/Austria - 1948 Bay City, MI). Both immigrated from Krosno, Poland/Austria to Braddock, PA in 1909 living with Kozubal relatives. They were married on 7 Nov 1910 in Braddock, PA. Sometime before 1919 they moved to Bay City, MI where Anna had Mularz/Kozubal relatives.
    - Besides Helen, they had 8 sons: Casimer C. (1912-1997), Matthew P. (1914-1982), Walter P. (1915-1947), Leonard B. "Leon" (1919-1942), Julius "Eugene" (121-1980), Stanley (1923-1960), Daniel J. (living) and Lenoard (living), and one daugher: Bernice (1918-2001).

    • Paul's parents are unknown.

    • Anna's parents were George Mularz and Agnus Gasda, their marriage data is unknown. Besides Anna, their children were Rosie, Paulette, Katherine, Mary, Anna, Karol, Joseph (1871-1933)
