Randolph County is Arkansas's 32nd county, formed on October 29, 1835, and named for John Randolph, a U.S. senator from Virginia, who was influential in obtaining congressional approval of the Louisiana Purchase, of which Randolph County is a part. The county is home to the Rice-Upshaw House, the oldest standing structure in the state, and Old Davidsonville State Park, devoted to one of Arkansas's earliest settlements. | Links |

The staff does not undertake research requests from the public. The Research Room is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M., Monday through Saturday. It is closed on state holidays.
