SURNAMES: TURNER, James Nelson 1859-1932
TURNER, John Young 1861-1941
QRYTEXT: I'm looking for ANY information on TURNERS.
James Nelson Turner was reputed to have gone to Blytheville, AR
sometime
after 1890 from KY. He may have married there, he was reported
to have
a daughter when he returned for visits to KY. James may also
have been
involved in the timber industry [his brother Benjamin Kerr
TURNER owned
the first sawmill in Craighead county at Black Oak and another in
Jonesboro).
John Young TURNER moved to CA about 1916, back to St. Louis
after 1926
after his first wife Jenny Brooks died; and finally back to
Dell. He was
a large landowner in Western Mississippi county, according to his
obituary, and owned property on the NW corner of Main and
Jackson in
Dell. His wife, Blanche, survived him by 10 years.
If anyone has heard of any of these TURNERS, I'd appreciate any
tidbit
you can provide.

QRYTEXT: I am searching for information
regarding Burlin (or some variation of the spelling)
PARNELL/PURNELL.
He was born before 1937, to Clyde Reid PARNELL and an unknown
spouse.
Clyde was my Grandfather, and family folklore is that he was
married
prior to marrying my Grandmother.
They were married c. 1937. It is said Clyde and his first wife
and son
moved to California. Clyde then returned to Arkansas and
married my
Grandmother, Elsie Ruby White.
Clyde was an itinerant farm worker who worked for my maternal
great-
grandparents on occasion, in West Ridge, Arkansas.
He also lived in and around the Leachville, Monette, Trumann,
Black Oak,
and Fisher area with Ruby and their children, until his death in
1942.
I cannot find records of a marriage between him and anyone other
than
Elsie, but both of my Grandmothers (maternal and paternal) have
told
similar stories at different times.
Elsie is dead now, and we cannot get info from her. My mat.
grandmother
is getting senile.
Any help in finding this mysterious wife and son would be greatly
appreciated.

QRYTEXT: I am looking for any information on William
Lafayette White and Elizabeth Elizer White (my paternal
gggrandparents).
They are reported to have lived in the region of Blytheville and
Caruthersville around the turn of the century (estimated). Any
information on their parents, children, dates of death will be
appreciated. One of their children was Wilkie Worthington White
(my
paternal ggrandfather). We know very little about William and
Elizabeth.
He served in the civil war (for the North) and she was part or
full
Quapaw indian. I am now trying to substantiate some of the oral
tradition on William and Elizabeth. If anyone has access to
local
records that might provide some factual info on these two,
please email
me at [email protected].
