SMITH, Martha Morgan - Mother of Charlotte Mailliard Schultz of San Francisco, died peacefully at her home in Borger, TX, surrounded by her family. She was 93, Born in Winthrop, AR, Mrs. Smith was a resident of Borger since 1939. Well remembered for her warmth and charm, she was a successful retail businesswoman until her retirement in 1992 at age 80. Mrs. Smith was very active in community groups throughout her life. She was past president of the La Ventana Book Club and a longtime member of the Borger Country Club. Mrs. Smith, visiting her daughter often, was well known by many San Franciscans. Mrs. Smith was the loving mother of Charlotte Shultz andCharles Sam Smith lll; the beloved mother-in-law of former Secretary of State George P. Schultz and Mrs Victoria Smith; adored grandmother of three grandchildren; and cherished great-grand-mother of five great-grandchildren. Survivors also include two sisters, Ruby Walker and Emily Johnson; and two brothers, Clarence and Leota Morgan. Funeral Services will be held at theFirst Presbyterian Church of Borger, on Tuesday, February 1, at 2:00 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Minton-Chatwell Funeral Directors in Borger. Interment will be at the Camp Ground Cemetery in Winthrop, AR, where Mrs. Smith's parents are buried.
