JOHN HEMPHILL
ASHDOWN, Ark.—John D. Hemphill, 64, of Foreman, Ark., died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, in a Texarkana hospital.
Mr. Hemphill was born Oct. 4, 1941, in Little River County, Ark. He was retired and a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by one son.
Survivors include two sons, John D. Hemphill of Jacksonville, Ark., and Dion Hemphill of Foreman; one daughter, Evelyn Riley of Foreman; one brother, Joe Green of Texarkana; six sisters, Erma Beard of Foreman, Barbara Hemphill, Geraldine Grimes and Nettie Cush of Ashdown, Dorothy Hill of San BernadinoBernardino, Calif., and Jessie Burris of San Pedro, Calif.; six grandsons; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Jones Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Alfred French Cemetery, Foreman, under direction of Moore’s Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
