ASHDOWN, Ark.--Charles J. Calloway, 51, of Ashdown died Saturday, Aug. 7, 1999, in a local hospital.

Mr. Calloway was born June 3, 1948, in Richmond, Ark. He was retired from Kaufman Seeds.

Survivors include his wife, Lizzie Calloway of Ashdown; two daughters, Kimberly Calloway of DeSoto, Texas, and Tamani Hester of Dallas; three stepsons, Bennie Richard, Steven Richard and Joey Richard of Ashdown; his mother, Norlean Calloway of Ashdown; seven brothers, John E. Calloway, Curtis L. Calloway, Losson Calloway Jr. and Willie D. Calloway of Ashdown, Arthur L. Calloway of Wisconsin, James E. Calloway of Texarkana and John H. Calloway of Dallas; four sisters, Mary Ross, Jissie Lee, Shirley Parker and Jessie Cooley of Ashdown; three grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Talton officiating. Burial will be in Rhodes Cemetery under direction of Moore's Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home
