ST. PETER'S CEMETERY
LOCATED ON MORGAN ROAD AT THE FORMER TOWNSITE OF NEW GASCONY IN JEFFERSON COUNTY, ARKANSAS. THIS CEMETERY HAS BEEN LISTED ON THE NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES. BURIALS OCCURRED IN ST. PETER'S FROM 1827 THROUGH 1927. THROUGH THE EFFORTS OF CLAUDE MERLO, JAMES MERRILL, HARRY FRATESI AND OTHER ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH PARISHONERS AND FAMILIES OF DESCENDANTS INTERRED IN THIS CEMETERY. BROKEN TOMBSTONES ARE BEING HUNTED AND RESTORED. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE GRAVES THAT HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED TO DATE AS OF JANUARY, 1998. THIS SUBMISSION IS ON BEHALF OF ALL THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE WORKED SO HARD RESTORING THIS CEMETERY.
