THE KIOWA CHRONICAL KIOWA PITTSBURG COUNTY, OKLA.THURSDAY OCT. 11, 1917

GONE TO HIS REWARD

"Uncle" Charlie Turney, who was a prosperous farmer living in Big Prairie neighborhood, died in All-Saints hospital McAlester, last Friday night. Last Monday morning Mr. Turney's left leg was amputated. It is reported death was not due to the operation performed, but from other complications, which later set in.

The deceased was about 60 years old and leaves a wife and serveral children. Funeral Director Humphrey of McAlester conveyed the remains to Kiowa and was interred in the city cemetery, services being conducted at the grave by the Masons, of which order he was a member. Mr. Turney was a good man, loved by all in his neighborhood and will be sadly missed.
