Arkansas Cemeteries
Est. ca 1862
Union County, Arkansas
Survey done January 9, 2003, Janice
Holzer
Updated October 2008
Located along Cane Creek Road,
south of the Hwy. 82 East (aka Strong Hwy.).
This cemetery is closer to the town of Strong . It is a beautiful, well maintained cemetery
alongside a beautiful little building that was apparently a church & is now
used for some sort of community building or probably for get together’s of
family members who have ties with those buried there. This cemetery is in the middle of a “swamp” probably on the only high & dry
place for miles.
If anyone ever wishes to visit this cemetery, do so with extreme
caution if it has rained within a week…..four wheel drive might not get you
through there after a rain. You
definitely do not want to attempt it with a regular car. The road is somewhat better if you come in
via Strong, Union County, Arkansas and pick up Lovett Road to cut over to Cane
Creek. There are no houses between Hwy.
82 & the cemetery if you come in on Cane Creek Road. Their location has probably spared the little
cemetery from vandalism over the years. *
Use of the “&” sign with a
pair indicates they share the same headstone.
Survey done January 9, 2003.
