CURTIS CEMETERY

BETWEEN FALLSVILLE AND SWAIN

NEWTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS

"Gone But Not Forgotten"

Original Listing  March 24, 2001

UPDATED October 8, 2006, by Rosa Cline

This is a COMPLETE listing of people interred at this cemetery. My husband originally hand transcribed this cemetery in March 2001. He, along with our cousin from California, Jackie Harlan, went out Oct 8, 2006 and updated and photographed all stones at this cemetery. Below is that updated data.

I have made an alphabetical listing before the actual transcriptions below. Beside each name I have noted if I have an obit ( obit ) , a headstone photo ( hd pic ) , or an actual photo ( pic ), or a newspaper article ( art )   for that person. Below that listing is the actual transcription of the stones. This listing is in the order in which the photos were taken. So it will kind of give you an idea of stones beside one another.

If you would like me to share with you, or you share extra data please feel free to contact me. However, please have the respect to not contact me to complain when I don’t have what you request. I will be more than happy to share with you what information I have on the people listed below . If you would like to send me data on your family or friends buried at this cemetery, I would be more than happy to accept and add the data into my listings. Please feel free to contact me.

I hope this listing helps these people to always be remembered. To try and help folks to always be remembered when they have gone on before us is the main reason I do what I do. And helping folks find family or friends in the process is a good plus as well.

There are approximately 75-80 graves marked with rocks only. (No engraved tombstones)

The below is a listing of names that was sent onto me by another cemetery transcriber. I have no way of verifying this data so please take as a guideline in your own research. Please note that there are three Curtis Cemeteries in Newton County and they are all within a similar area. So many times people mix up who is buried in which Curtis Cemetery. So again, please take the below as a guideline only, as I have no way of making the below accurate or have additional information for those listed.
