LOWER CAMPGROUND CEMETERY

Kingston, Madison County, Arkansas

"GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN"

Transcribed during the years 2001 and 2002; typed Jan 2003 including updates

(Click Links Below to View ** More Photos available at Find-A-Grave)

Directions: Coming off of Hwy 412 you will turn onto South 21 going toward Kingston. You will drive .5 miles on South 21. You will then turn right on to Madison County Road 2120. (You will see the cemetery) You can drive into the first drive you come to or drive on around the curve in front of the church and enter the cemetery there.

If you are driving from Kingston Square you will go on Highway 21, 6.5 miles (driving toward Hwy 412) you will see County Road 2120 sign and the church sign on your left. You will then turn left onto the county road and there you will see the cemetery.

We have taken headstone pictures of just about all the stones out there... and still working on getting the rest... so if anyone would like to request a scanned picture just contact us. I have tried listing all the people out there in alphabetic order before the transcriptions, sometimes I do leave people out (not meaning to) so if you are looking for someone specific, use your browser’s “Find” feature.  When I did this transcription I tried speaking with a few people who have given me added data and that is included in parenthesis ( ). I know there are still many out there in unmarked graves...so will be trying to find their identities before my next update.

We have tried to read the stones as accurately as possible, trying to read even the poems and inscriptions.  There are several people buried here in unmarked graves for various reasons...from not being able to afford them, to the two tornadoes that have come through, and/or damaged stones to vandalism.  So if anyone knows of anyone buried out there that isn't on the list please contact us so we can accurately document them. Thanks!

Your gentle Face and patient smile with sadness we recall.

You had a kindly owrk for each and died beloved by all.

The voice is mute and stilled the heart that loved us well and

true, Ah, bitter was the trial to part from one so good as you.

You are not forgotten loved one nor will you ever be As long as

life and memory last we will remember thee. We miss you now,

our hearts are sore, as time goes by we miss you more, Your

loving smile, your gently face, no one can fill your vacant place.

Loving Memories

(on back)

Your gentle face and patient smile

with sadness we recall.

You had a kindly word for each

and died beloved by all.

the voice is mute and stilled the heart

that loved us well and true

Ah, Bitter was the trial to part

from one so good as you

You are not forgotten loved one

Nor will you ever be,

As long as life and memory last

we will remember thee.

We miss you now our hearts are sore,

As time goes by we miss you more

Your loving smile your gentle face

no one can fill your vacant place.
