This
cemetery is located 1.5 miles North of Alicia, Lawrence County. County Road
739 turns east off the highway across the tracks. I parked there and walked the
tracks to get access to the Cemetery. It is located on a small hill, easily
seen from the highway. The tall stone is all you can see of the stones from the
highway. The Cemetery is located between highway 67 and the railroad tracks. I found
only 7 stones. I searched carefully for others with a sturdy walking cane I
took with me. The hill is totally overgrown and was very difficult to access.
It took several photos of each stone to get a good one from any angle. This is
the first of 2 over views. This
one was taken at the beginning of the incline of the hill.
My aunt,
Jane Sharp Odom, gave me a lot of information on different cemeteries over the
period of the month that we spent auditing these cemeteries. She took all the
notes as I photographed. She is 88 years old!
This
is the second overview from the back of the Cemetery.

child of J.T. & L. Vowell - Ethel, the lady at the library in Walnut Ridge, helped us a
lot on finding the cemeteries. I found
no other stones. Perhaps this child is on the stone with the other two Vowell
childrn, Roy and Monnie. The stone was very hard to read and there could have been
three names listed. There is a very small stone at the base of the double stone
for Floy & Monnie.
