I am in Franklin, Tenn, but am
writing you to let you know about a cemetery that has mostly been destroyed by
someone. It is on Kings Bayou near Cornerstone in Jefferson County, Ark. The
precious few stones left are mostly
those of my family ,one being my great grandmother . The last names on the 5 or
6 left are all Garrett, but one or two. That was my maiden name. It was, about
30 years ago, a nice size cemetery enclosed by a wrought iron fence. Just a
little of the fence is left and you can determine some of the size by the base
of some stones still left in some weeds here and there. This has got to have
been done by big farm equipment because of the bending of some of the wrought
iron. It had the misfortune to be bordering a huge row crop field. It also had
huge trees in it at one time and after my Grandfather, who kept an eye on it
died,"someone" had them cut down. I think because they were shading a
tiny part of the crops. Anyway, as of a year ago it was still there. I hope it
still is today, but the remaining
stones could have been pushed in the Bayou. Just to let you know. Distressed, Glenda Grigsby
