Extensive research plus physically assisting in the clean up
of this cemetery leads me to believe my information is very accurate.
Cemetery name: Galloway - Wood located in Jefferson County,
AR - Pine Bluff - Sulphur Springs area. There are 11 known graves and
potentially 10-12 more that are unmarked but logic says they should also be
there. I would love to prove the others. Those certainly buried there
are:
George W. Lawrence - b about 1833 - died after 1865. Confederate Veteran
Marker - Hardy's Regiment - (my great, great grandfather)
Mary A. Galloway Lawrence - b about 1834, died after 1890 - George W Lawrence's
wife
unnamed twins, boy and girl, died 1893 - children of George Christopher
Lawrence & Nancy Ellen Lawrence (my great grandparents)
John T. Wood - b 7/31/1838 and died 3/30/1894 - married to Martha Galloway Wood
no dates for her death
John W. Wood - b 8/24/1869 and died 3/30/1887 - son of John T and Martha Wood
Annis Galloway Ursery -sister to Martha Galloway - no dates
Dr. Noah Kite - died 1923 - married to Mary Lawrence Kite
Marget Jane Bryles - b - 4-1-1839 and died 8-7-1874 - this is the correct
spelling on her marker
We now know from research that William Galloway and his wife Pamelia Galloway are definitely buried here. He died prior to 1870, and she died after 1880. There were the parents of Mary A. Galloway, wife of George W. Lawrence.
