A descendent of the Sutherland family

Pvt. Sutherland Gave Life In France

 

Pvt. Lynuel Dickson son of DeWitt and Alis Sutherland

Of Saddle, Arkansas, was killed in action in France on

  July 06, 1944. Pvt Sutherland was a paratrooper in 

The 82nd Airborne Division, 507 PIR Group. He had been in

service for his country 14 months and overseas for 7 months.

He received his training at Camp Wolters, TX. and Fort Mead,

  MD. Pvt. Sutherland received the European African Middle

Eastern Campaign Theatre medal, the WWII Victory Medal,

The WWII Service Lapel Button, a Bronze Star, and

  the Purple Heart.

Interment was in Saddle Cemetery at Saddle, Arkansas.
