Metzger Family Cemetery

Heafer, Crittenden County, Arkansas

Submitted April 5, 2004, by Faith Truska

I have found a very small cemetery but do not know the name of it. I only found 2 headstones but was told there was supposed to be more.

It's in Heafer, about 3 miles west of Interstate 55 on hwy 42, that's exit 21. If you come to hwy 118 then you've gone to far. It will be on the left coming from 55. It has a fence around it, it is in the middle of a field. It is overgrown and is full of sticker vines. My husband had to cut through them so we could get in.

My mother was told years ago that it was the Metzger family cemetery.  Here are the 2 we found.

James William  son of Homer & Jessie Harding

Jan. 29, 1919

Upright headstone

Theodore F. Metzger

Sept. 1904       Aug.   1910

Flat headstone, was covered in leaves and dirt (lucky to have found it). Made of Bronze I believe.
