BADGLEY, STARR, TITSWORTH posted by Nora Tocus ([email protected] on Wednesday, June 9, 1999
This query is in re the town of Arkansas Post: in May of 1806 my ancestor Elizabeth BADGLEY STARR TITSWORTH and her husband Abraham TITSWORTH set out to travel by pirogue canoe on the Mississippi and Arkansas Rivers from southern Illinois to the TITSWORTH home in Arkansas(don't know location). According to the account given in a late 19th century Illinois history, the couple was forced to put in at a military base called Post Arkansas, where Elizabeth gave birth to their child and Abraham TITSWORTH died. She was subsequently rescued by family members whom she managed to contact. Does anyone familiar with local history know about the history of Post Arkansas, which I am guessing is the same place as Arkansas Post? Would there be old records held anywhere? Would TITSWORTH's grave be possible to locate? If you can help, please contact me direct at . Thanks, Nora Tocus

James GARRISON and Catherine ANDERSON married in 1813 in Union County, Kentucky and moved shortly afterward to Arkansas County, Arkansas. We are really sure that is where they are becasue the Garrison genealogist recorded them there in 1894 and my Uncle Everett Anderson said they wwent there in 1973 and they can't both be wrong. I have information to share on their ancestors if anyone can prvide some descendants. Patrick Anderson
