Walter Stillwell,
born 10/31/1842, around Gillette, Died 11/14/1898. His parents
were Harold Stillwell and Charlotte
Bassett. He married Synthia Evaline Reeves 8/29/1867.
He fought for the
Confederacy with Blocher's Light Artillery. His family moved
just South of Stuttgart in what was known as the Stillwell Community.
The old Stillwell Schoolhouse was torn down in the 1960's.
