John R. Smith, born in 1830 Oakey Streak, Butler Co., Alabama. He died in 1916, Frisco City, Monroe Co., Alabama and Sarah Ann Hughs Smith, born June 20 1835 Oakey Streak, Butler Co., Alabama. She died Nov. 1, 1918. John R. Smith fought in the 38 Inf. Co. D, CSA. They were the parents of Zack Lewis Smith who ran the Blacksher Lumber Co trains in Uriah, Monroe Co., Alabama.
