The child you have identified as Washington Durden, Jr. in the top photograph is probably my great uncle Washington Roosevelt Durden (b. 1904), known as Wash. Washington Layfayette (Fate) Durden was always referred to as W. L. Durden or Fate (short for Layfayette) and was not ever really referred to as Washington and certainly not as Washington, Sr. as there was not a Washington Lafayette, Jr.  Just for the record, Willie Lee Durden was born in 1899 and and Tommie Lafayette Durden was born in 1901.  The birth years of the children and their appearance in the top photo would indicate that the photo date should be a little later.

This photo was taken in the late 1920's or early 1930's.  Frony died in 1934 and Fate died in 1938.  The child who is identified in the second photo as Willie Durden Jr. is actually my mother, Eddie Bell Durden (b. 1924).
