About our MGS Monthly Meetings

Montgomery Genealogical Society (MGS) meetings are currently being held quarterly, with the exact months to be determined based on speaker and meeting location schedules and availability. They are typically held at the Figh-Pickett-Barnes House on the corner of Court and Mildred Streets in Montgomery.

More Information on a few of our past guest speakers:

Dr. Richard Hobson. He is the Deputy Governor of the  Society of Mayflower Descendants  in the State of Alabama.  His program will be on the National Mayflower Society and the lineage and genealogy of our founding fathers.

Larry P. Cornwell, a retired US Air Force colonel, a member of the General Richard Montgomery Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution in Montgomery and past president of the Alabama Society. He is noted for speaking to multiple organizations, churches, and schools on the subject of the Revolutionary War soldier, and on The Christian Faith of our Patriot Forefathers.

Dot Moore who wrote Oracle of the Ages: Reflections on the Curious Life of Fortune Teller Mayhayley Lancaster.
