Notes for LEWIS JEFFERSON TODD:
He was a planter and overseer who acquired several parcels of land in Lowndes and Dallas Counties prior to the Civil War. He fathered four children and left three of them fatherless when he died. Wounded in battle (just north of Atlanta in May, 1864), he died at home 25 days later, after having been treated and released from the CSA field hospital in Atlanta.
