The Lowndes County Historical and Genealogical Society currently has for sale copies of "Lowndes Court House: A Chronicle of Hayneville, an Alabama Black Belt Village, 1820-1900," by Mildred Brewer Russell. This book is about the early years of Hayneville, the county seat through the Civil War and then some. An index added after publication is included. Marriage records from 1830 through 1871 are in the back of the book, though some of these are incorrect. Marriage records for Lowndes County can be found by clicking here.

The book normally sells for $35.00, but I will sell it for $10.00 (includes postage) to the first person who orders.
We also have one copy left of the 1850 Lowndes County Census on CD. The CD normally sells for $20.00, but I will sell it for $5.00 (includes postage) to the first person who orders.
