For those of you who may not have noticed, Lisa Franklin's genealogy web site--Tracking Your Roots--is back. This site has been a tremendous source of information to me as I have researched my Alabama ancestors (Evans, Taylor, Phillips, Golden, Wiggins, Woodham, etc). The site address is still the same (http://members.aol.com/GenWebLisa/). Many of the links have not yet been restored, but I have been advised that she should have them reactivated by the end of the year along with a considerable amount of new material If you would like to make a contribution, her address is listed on her web page. She will accept financial contributions to help defray the cost of maintaining the site as well donations of genealogy material that can be posted for others to use. Please take this chance to send her a donation and welcome her back. Merry Christmas, Carl Evans

I am looking for any information on Vandy Otis STEVENS, born 10/12/1890 in Lee County and his wife, Lula M. STEVENS, born 2/29/1892, also in Lee County. I do not have the names of their parents, but would appreciate it. Perhaps census records may have something. I don't know if birth records were kept back then. I am just getting started on my search. They may have gotten married in Lee County, before they moved to Ohio. Both were African Americans. I have reason to believe Lula was half African American and half Indian, if that helps. Thank you SO MUCH!

Please find any information for Brady Melton of Opelika, Alabama. Brady Melton was an African American man and a land owner in Opelika, Alabama. I know that he was born in the late 1800s and died circa 1965. I would like to know any information available; where he was born, his parents names, anything at all. Also, any information about the Melton family from Lee County would be quite helpful.
