Will of Augustin JENKINS
Will Book 1, page 18
Know all men by these presents that I, Augustin Jenkins of the Count of Lawrence, State of Alabama, being at this time in a low state of health, but of sound mind and memory and knowing the uncertainty of life have thought proper to make and publish this my last and only will.
In the first place, in my will and desire that all my just debts be fully satisified and paid out of the debts that is owed to me so soon as they can be collected by my ececutor, the balance of my property of every description I wish be kept together with mutual support and benefit of my four children who are as follows: Nancy Jenkins, Susannah Jenkins, William B. Jenkins, and John B. Jenkins until the youngest child becomes of age, after which the property is to be equally divided among them all with the increase thereof.
And lastly, I constitue and appoint my son in law William Jennings my executor to this my last will and testament, having entire confidence in him to manage the same with fidelity and to him and my oldest daughter Nancy Jennings, I commit the care and raising of my other three children. In testimony whereof I have here unto sey my hand and affixed my seal in presence of the undersigned witnessed this 7th day of April in the year of our Lord 1823.
