On the eighth day of June 1849, personally appered before the Hon. William GALLAWAY,Judege of 
the County Court, in and for the County of Lawrence, in said State of Alabama; Ditha,otherwise 
Aditha Horton, a resident in the County of Lawrence a foresaid, aged about niney years, 
(she haveing been born in March, 1759) who, being duly sworn according to law,doth on her oath,
make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefits of the provision made the Act 
of Congress, passed July 7, 1838, entitled "An Act Granting Half Pay and Pensions to Certain 
Widows". That she is the widow of Abram Horton, late of said county of Lawrence, deceased, she 
was up to and at the time of his death, a Revolutionary Pensioner of the United States,as a 
Private, at the rate of Thirty Dollard per annum, that the pension certificate of said 
Abrah Horton which was the only documentary evidence of the fact that he was such pensioner,in 
the possession of affiant, has since his death been returied as required by law to the Pension 
Agent of the United States at Huntsville, in said state, and is not now in the possession of 
affiant, but proof of the service of said Abram Horton will be proven by records in the War 
Department at Washington City. She futher declarea that she was married to said Abram Horton, 
who was the identical person named in the Pension Certificate returned as aforesaid,on or about 
the 28th day of December, in the year Seventeen Hundred and Seventy Seven, and that her husband, 
the aforesaid Abram Horton , pensioner as aforesaid County of Lawrence, that she was married to 
him prior to his leaving the service, but the marriage took place previous to the 1st of 
January, 1794 1st of,to wit at the time above stated. She futher swears that the bonds of 
matrimony were solemized between herself and her said husband, at the time aforesaid,
by Kajah Clark, Esqr.,in the County of Surry, in the State of North Carolina,and that she has 
not and does not know of the existence of any recorded evidence of said marriage,and that they 
entry thereof in her husbands family bible has long since been worn out and destroyed.She 
futher swears that she is now a widow,that she was never married but once,and that she never 
before made application for Pension.

In His official certification of the above deposition, Wm. M. Gallwaway, Judges of County Court
stated that the "said Ditha Horton, could not and cannot, for bodily infirmity,(come before)
the court aforesaid or any other and make her claim for said pension in open court".
(note she was mabout 90 at this time)
Docket on the obverse of her document holder is the following: "Alabama, Hunts, Ditha Horton, 
Widow of Abraham Horton, who served in the Revolutionary War aas a Private, N.C. Line, Inscribed
on the Roll at the rate of       Dollars       Cents per annum, to commence on the 4th day of 
March, 1848. Certificate of Pension issued the 12th day of Sept., 1849 and sent to Thomas M. 
Peters, Moulton, Ala. Recorded on Roll of Pensioners under Act of February 2, 1848, 
Page 388, Vol.3".
