MARTIN FAMILY
I am seeking information the names of the wives of my grandfather , Samuel R. "Dick" Martin and great grandfather, Samuel P. Martin ,  both of whom  resided in Mt. Hope in Lawrence County in mid to late 1800's. They are buried at Rock Springs Presbyterian Cemetery there. I do know that Samuel R. was first married to Lena Stephenson who died about 1800 and his second wife, my grandmother, was Sally O. Burleson Preuit Martin. I would also like to know who Samuel P. Martin's parents were. Martha Cantrell [email protected]

 HOUSTON/GOLDEN
I have been trying to find my grandfathers birth parents for years. I have a birth certificate for a John & Ida Houston but I can find no John married to an Ida.There was 2 John Houstons but only 1 in Mt Hope. After my grandmother died we were told that the woman that raised my grandfather was not his mother.I have been searching every since. I have a Probate Court record that apprentice's out a 6 year old child Authur Flowers to a M.H.Golden March 5,1895.The date is off 3 years according to my grandfather birth but my Aunt ask her Uncle Hub McLain who my grandfathers mother was & he told her it might have been a Fowler or Flowers. The reason Uncle Hub is important here is his wife Elizabeth Wear was the woman that raised my grandfather 1st cousin. The woman that raised my grandfather was Myrtie Wear Houston. The Wears were related to the Goldens in some way which makes me think this child indentured to the Golden could have been my grandfather.. On my Grandfather dads headstone it says a Loving father which confuses me , if anyone has any infomation, please contact me at:

SUTTON
I would greatly appreciate anyone with information to help me with the  ancestors of GROVER SUTTON. he was born July 12, 1955 in Lawrence Co, AL-  died NOV 1984 in a automobile accident with his son. A great help would be  to know his parents, grandparents, since he is of an age where I can't  backtrack on the census. Also, if anyone has a copy of his obituary, that  would be greatly appreciated. Any help or leads greatly appreciated.  THANKS! [email protected]

SHEFFIELD/JOHNSON
Seeking to verify Martha Ann Sheffield, b. ca. 1828 is the daughter of William Sheffield and Mary Martha Kelley.  Martha Ann Sheffield m. Thomas Johnson in LCA 1 Sept. 1845.  William and Mary Sheffield are listed on the same page as Thomas and Martha Johnson in the 1850 LCA and are about the right ages to be her parents.  Thomas and Martha are listed in the 1850 & 1860 LCA Census.  In the 1870 LCA Census, the head of the household is listed as Patsy Johnson, Thomas is not listed.  I would like to know where Martha Sheffield Johnson is buried as well as verification of her parents.

Thanks!

FERGUSON/OLD ELAM CHURCH SCHOOL
I have a photo taken February, 1910, of my grandmother, Carrie Lee Ferguson. She was the school teacher at the Old Elam Church School. The photo is of her and all her students with the school building behind them. I have the names of everyone in the photo. I would be happy to email this photo to anyone who wishes it. I would dearly like to know more about the school and if anyone know where it was. I am told it was about 5 miles south of Moulton. Carrie is a GGG-granddaughter of Major William Russell (Russellville, Franklin County, AL).
