The 5 Sons of William J. Cottingham

Wiley Cottingham served in the Civil War from Lawrence Co.  He was apparently shot at the Battle of Shiloh, then died the following year.  He is buried near Hillsboro. He and Mary Elizabeth Landers had one son, William J. Cottingham. 
This photograph shows the five sons of William J. Cottingham.  They are: Justin, Julian, Joe, Walter, and Leslie. Since William was born in the early 1860s, I assume this photo was made sometime around 1890-1900. William ultimately moved to Memphis. I do not know if any of these kids wound up back in Lawrence Co or not, but their roots are there.....
