Nancy is buried in Old Bethel Cem.& James is thought to be buried beside her,as there is a grave beside her
that is not marked.
James was the son of John Young Houston & Elizabeth Rodgers.

died in Mt Hope,Al.Lawrence Co.of T.B.07/05/1912. He is buried in Rock Springs Cem.at Mt.Hope.He married in Lawrence Co.Al.on 12/20/1887 to Myrtie Virgina Wear born 03/08/1868 Lawrence Co.Al.Died 04/27/1928 in
Morgon Co.A.Buried in Decatur City Cem. Myrtie was the daughter of Rev.Robert Tipton  & Sarah Mirah Frances
Wallace Wear.  Myrtie was unable to have children; a child dropped her as a baby down some stairs & broke her back.My Aunt remembers her & she was hunched back. John had one son my grandfather Burnie Houston born out of wedlock to somone named Ida,maybe Fowler or Flowers Surname.My grandfather was born 08/ 08/1892 in Mt.Hope Al.Died in Morgon Co.Al.01/13/1965.Married in Mt.Hope 08/14/1915 to Margaret Irene McLain born 11/30/1893 Eldrige,Al.Walker Co.Died in Morgon Co.Al.05/15/1970.They are buried in Union Hill Cem.Morgon Co.Al. I found in Lawrence Co.a birth certifiate for a male child born to John & Ida Hewston on 01/18/1892 at Mt.Hope.I believe this is my grandfather's  birth certifiate even though the month & date is wrong.There was one other
John Houston in Lawrence Co.in Town Creek. He married Elizabeth Ann Maudlin.They had a child born Sept.1892 but
1900 census shows this child to be a girl.I believe my grandfater's birth mother Ida raised him untill about 1899.
I don't know wht happened to her but grandaddy went to live with his daddy John
& his step-mom Myrtie aboutthe time he was 7. When his dad died in 1912 Myrtie moved to Decatur to hr brothers &
