The State of Alabama) Whereas by an order here to for made by the
Probate Court of said County to wit: on the Lawrence County )
27th day of November 1871 I David M. Jamison as administrator of
the Estate of Joseph Jamison, deceased, was authorized and
empowered to sell the realty herein after described belonging to
said Estate and whereas pursuant to said order after having given
due and legal notice of the time, place, and terms of sale by
advertisements in the Moulton Advertiser a paper published at
Moulton for the time of three weeks previous to said sale. I as
adminstrator as aforesaid on the 1st day of January 1872 did
offer in front of the courthouse in the town of Moulton in said
County said lands for sale at public outcry and at said sale
William Harris became the highest, last and best bidder for the
purchase of the W 1/2 of the N.E. 1/4 section one (1) Township
Seven (7) Range Nine (9) West at the price of one dollar per acre
amounting in the affregate sum of Eighty Dollars. And whereas by
said Probate Court and said Willaim Harris has paid the full
amount of said purchase money, which payment has been reported to
said court and said Court has decreed titles to be made to said
William Harris of the said land above described so purchased by
him. Now therefore by virtue of the power invested in me by the
premises and in consideration of said sum of Eighty Dollars to me
in hand paid by said William Harris the receipt whereof is hereby
acknowledged, I hereby grant, bargain, sell and convey, transfer
and set over to said William Harris his heirs and assigns all the
right title claim interest and demand that said Joseph Jamison at
the time of his death had and held in and to the lands here in
before described. To have and to hold to the said William Harris
his heirs and assign forever.
In testimony whereof I as adminstrator aforsaid do hereunto set
my hand and affix my seal this the 11th day of March 1873.
