This Bible was owned many years by James Edward Whitsett, son of Joseph Wilson & Cynthia (Tankersley) Whitsett. His daughter, May Belle, a school teacher, never married and had always lived with her parents. After the deaths of James Edward and his wife, Belle (Guerry), May Belle was preparing to move to a retirement center. She found the Bible wrapped in a cotton tea towel while cleaning out a closet.
