Mrs. Sillar Smith 
 
Funeral for Mrs. Sillar Smith, 76, who died at her home, 3314 Seventh Avenue, at 7:30 p.m. Friday after a short illness, will be held today. She was the widow of Dennis Smith.
 
Born in Alabama, on June 2, 1872, she was the daughter of Billie and Ellen Givins McDaniel. She had lived here six months, coming to Columbus from Dothan, Ala.
 
Surviving are four sons, A. and Davie Smith, of Columbus, Damon Smith, of Bolden Green, Fla., and Henry Smith, of Dothan; three daughters, Mrs. Leon McCallister and Mrs. Clara Howard, of Columbus, and Mrs. Chafer Peacock, of Mobile, Ala.; three brothers, Zackley McDaniel, of Bolden Green; Datis McDaniel, of Dothan, and Spoomon McDaniel, of Marianna, Fla., and one sister, Mrs. Ida Mills, of Slocomb, Ala.
 
Funeral will be at Rehobeth Baptist Church near Dothan at 4 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. C.C. Balcom, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

NOTE: My Great Great Grandmother Eliza Priscilla McDaniel Smith died in Columbus, GA and was buried in unmarked grave at Rehobeth Cemetery, at the foot of Rudolph Sanders grave. In 2004 a headstone was placed on her grave. Her parents are William J. McDaniel and Narcissa Emaline Varnum. Emaline's father, Aaron Daniel Varnum, died in the war and her mother remarried to a Givens.
