Does anyone have any Lucas connection to Franklin Co or Henry Co, AL? Looking for info on Samuel Lucas & his son Lemuel J.(I.?) listed in 1840 census of Franklin Co, AL. I think Samuel's wife may have died there. Samuel is listed in 1830 Henry Co, AL census & Sanuel L. (or Lemuel J.) married Eliza A. Hilman in Henry Co, AL on 22 Aug 1837. Think Samuel listed in 1850 Chickasaw Co, MS with children Lucinda, John, Irvin & another one, Mary living with his son Lemuel J. in Tishomingo Co, MS is the same one. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Would like to locate the grave of Pumphret Malone, somewhere in Franklin County, most likely near the Mississippi line near what used to be Malone, Alabama. Could be in what is now Colbert County (old Indian territory). Have found the grave of his brother, James Malone, near Frankfort, as well as those of his sister's family, Amy Malone Hester. These three families came from what is now Person Co., NC, about 1817. This is my GGG grandfather.

attn: MILLER, BOLDING, BOLLING, PATTERSON, HILL, WETHERBEE, families. franklin co alabama. Searching the above surnames. my ggggrandfather was Andrew Patton Bolding/Bolling married to Mary Ann (Polly) Patterson (first wife). And Mary (polly) Hill (second wife) Andrew Patton Bolling and his brother James Tarpley Bolling were sons of Mary Patterson. and they were half brothers to Robert Anderson Harvey Bolding, and Alexander Patton Bolding, and Verlain Bolding and Martha Elizabeth Bolding and I have been told there may have been more born to Mary Polly Patterson, but do not know there names.Andrew Pickens Bolding, son of Andrew Patton Bolding may have killed a man in Franklin Co. Alabama and ran away to Tx and later Indian Terr. his Brother James Tarpley was later a judge in Franklin Co. Alabama.Seeking information on the above story. He was married to Adeline Aiely or Aily Miller. Recent info says that she was the daughter of James "Walking" Jim" Miller of Clark Co. Ky and his wife Telitha McKenny,Walking Jim Miller's father and mother may have been James and Mariah (Flynn) Miller of Pendleton, Ky. Myriah (Flynn) Miller's father and mother may have been John and Lucinda (Browning) of Clark Co. Kentucky. I have not had the time to verify this infomation it is two days old however there are numerous queries on Millers of Franklin Co. asking for this information on Adeline Miller that I have included it as received. Andrew Pickens Bolding my gggrandfather had a son named Frank Hill Patton Bolding named after a Frank Hill who was a son of Mary (polly) Hill from her first Marriage he went to Arkansas and no information was ever received. This may have been William Franklin Hill that a hill decendant has a query about. Frank Hill Patton Bolding married to Minnie Alice (Bell) Bolding. her second marriage was to a Barney Tinker was my great- grandfather. His son Charles (Charlie) Louis Bolding was my grandfather. His son Lewis Franklin Bolding who is married to Doris Emma (Tracy) is my mother. His son is me Michael Lewis Bolding. Andrew Patton Bolding also went by the name of Andrew P. Bolding and also Andy and may have used the name of Andrew Pleasants Bolding. He had sons James Tarpley Bolding and Andrew Pickens Bolding by his first wife Mary (Polly) Patterson bolding and there may have been more children? Also he had sons Robert Anderson Harvey Bolding and Verlain Bolding and Alexander Patton Bolding and daughter Martha Elizabeth Bolding who married Hardin Patterson brother of Mary (Polly) Patterson ?. Who were children of Mary (Polly) Hill, Andrew Patton Bolding's second wife. James Tarpley Bolding and Alexander Patton Bolding remained in Franklin Co. James Tarpley later became a Judge in Franklin Co. Alabama. Alexander Patton farmed. Hoping to correspond with their descendants still in the area. Family oral traditions says that Andrew pickens killed a man in Franklin Co Alabama and ran to Tx and later to Indian Terr. now Ok. also I have been told that Adeline Miller was Indian. seeking answers if known. Who was the father of Andrew Patton Bolding? Have been told that Andrew Patton and Andrew Patton were the same man. Also other sources say that they were cousins? Have also been told the father of Andrew Patton Bolding was James Marion Bolding and have also been told it was John Tarpley Bolding Brother of John Tarpley? Does anyone know for sure. Can you Prove it once and for all? I have also been told that only four of the thirteen children were born with the middle name of pleasants instead of the thirteen often cited and that that is where the confusion cited. Genelogical records on the net quote both Andrew Patton and Andrew Pleasants Bolding dying the day and the same place of burial Strickland Patterson cemetery Franklin county Alabama. Also cannot find any other place of burial of an Andrew Pleasants. I anyone can help me in this I would appreciate it very much. I also am interested in Robert Patterson father of Mary (Polly) Patterson Tombstone says he was born in England yet I have some info that his family had been in the United States for a hundred and fifty years or so. Will share the info if anyone would like to see. Also anybody from the hill family would like to hear from you. I would not be blood kin but uall must have been nice people. and may know information on my family. any and all replies will be answered so you will not be wasting your time. I am middle aged and recently disabled and have my first and brand new computer and the last yr and half family research as become my hobby. Thank you very much for allowing me to insert this quiry and I'd like to say hello to all my distant kin in the great county of Franklin Alabama. Sincerly Michael L. Bolding mbold1@hotmail.com and mbold1@dellnet.com God Bless You All. At least three Generations of Bolding/Bollings married wetherbee's and I know some of them went to Franklin Co. I am trying to find the maiden name of my great great grandmother Lucinda C. Walker. She married my gggrandfather Wilburn Walker. It is said that she was Native American and from Cherokee, AL. I know that they both lived and died in Franklin County. They were the parents of my ggrandmother Evaline WAlker who married William B. James. In the 1880 census they have a Martha Crouch living with them. I am wondering if the "C" in Lucinda's name may be for her maiden name and maybe it was Crouch and Martha could have been her sister. I would appreciate any information that anyone may have about the Walker's and James in Franklin County. My Grandfather was Drewey G. James who was married to Florence Fisher. Her parents were William Bud Fisher and Laura Yocum Fisher. Would appreciate any information on the Fisher's and Yocum's also. Thanks ever so much. Carlene Grimes ccgrimes@bellsouth.net

David and Betsey Ann RUSSELL buried in Bonds Cemetery. David b. 1807 d. 1868. Betsey ann b. 1808 d. 185?. 1860 Franklin Co. Census indicates this family as David age 57 born SC, Betsy A. age 57 b. SC, Mary J. age 12 b. Ala, Samuel age 12 b. Ala and Samuel Moody age 14 b. Ala. I believe the Mary Jane to be my great grandmother. What hapened to Samuel who seems to be a twin. Also, is anyone researching the Moody family. Is the Samuel Moody related to the Russell family. If ages are right it means that Betsy would have been 45 when the twins were born. I wonder if David and Betsy may be the grandparents. Would like to hear from anyone working on this RUSSELL family. Have been unable to find them in the 1850 census. Thanks Micki Burleson, Granbury Tx

John Louis Steele Sat Jun 16 09:37:55 2001
Looking for my Steele, Steel ancestors who were suppose to have been in the Franklin County area in the mid to late 1800's. I have traced my GGrandfather, Wick Steel to this area. His parents were suppose to have been James and Martha Steel. Chris Ozbirn at the Russellville Library looked up several names for me while I was there, but nothing has rang a bell yet. I know there are several families in the area with both spellings of the name. If anyone would have any information that would help me, I would appreciate it very much. According to records that I have my GGrandfather would have been born around 1857 and he was moved to the Posey County, Indiana area by the late 1870's. That is really about all I know about him.
