MOORE • ARGROVES • WHITE

Bill Plock ~ Jan 7 2001
I am searching for any information on my grandfather that was born in Berry, Alabama in October 1897. He was born to Jack and Zola Belle MOORE. His birth name was probably Leroy MOORE but his parents took him to Atlanta when he was very young and put him up for adoption. In 1900 he was adopted by Rufus M. and Sarah Estes Todd ARGROVES. No one knows what became of Jack or Zola Belle afterwards but Grandpa Leroy married Ruth Naomi WHITE in 1916 and they had several children that lived in and around Columbus, GA for the most part. Any information on the MOORE family will be greatly appreciated.

BOBO • SKELTON

Gene Bobo ~ Mar 15 2001
I am searching for the date of death and burial place of my great-great-grandfather William Asa BOBO. He was born in 1829 and married Harriet Skelton 17 March 1853 in Franklin County, Georgia. The 1860 census indicates that William Asa BOBO, Harriett, and children lived in Fayette County, Alabama. In "BOBO Cousins by the Dozens", only Harriett and children were listed in the 1870 and 1880 census of Fayette County, Alabama. Harriett Skelton BOBO died 10 September 1916 and is buried beside her son William BOBO in the Chapel Hill cemetery in Fayette County, Alabama, but there is no indication that William Asa BOBO is buried there. If you have information on the date or burial place of William Asa, would you please share it with me. Thanks. Gene Bobo

Need help in proving that MANLEY A. FILES, JR was the son of MANLEY A. FILES, SR.  I know that MANLEY JR. was shot and killed in mid 1840 and MANLEY SR. died in 1840 too.  I cannot locate a Will for MANLEY SR., but his widow was in Fayette Co. in the 1850 census.  MANLEY JR. didn't leave a Will (since he was shot) and I cannot locate any concrete evidence that they were in fact father and son.  I "think" MANLEY JR. was married to JANE DUNN, but I can't locate a marriage record for them.  Any help will be very much appreciated.  Please respond to [email protected].  Thanks in advance.
